2015 Democratic Mayoral Primary Report Card

Philadelphia 2015 Mayoral Report Card on Education (1)

As we all know, education is a critical issue in Philadelphia — now, and always. As a city-wide coalition of teachers and education allies, Teacher Action Group represents thousands of votes. Every candidate supports “great schools”. But how will their real policies affect real students?

Teacher Action Group Philly strives to be as open as possible. So here’s what we did: We polled 5 of the 6 Democratic Mayoral candidates (Milton Street did not respond). We assessed them based on our experience and research as to what can help our children. The team consisted of public school and independent school teachers, activists, parents, school aids, and certified librarians.

You can read our questions below, or the full survey. You can read each candidate’s response as well.
